About Spride Share
Spride Share was founded by Sunil Paul, Nitesh Mehta, and Jason Starr to help people use their cars to make money while saving the earth.
Sunil Paul, CEO
Sunil Paul runs Spring Ventures, a cleantech fund, and is currently Spride’s CEO. He is also founder and chairman of the Clean Economy Network, the largest cleantech and green business organization. He is helping guide the Carbon War Room’s project “The Gigaton Throwdown,” which seeks to educate and inspire entrepreneurs and investors to solve climate and energy problems by 2020.
Before shifting to the clean energy industry, Sunil was founder and CEO of two successful Internet companies: Brightmail, the leading anti-spam software, which was sold to Symantec for $370 million, and FreeLoader, which was sold for $38 million. Sunil also worked for AOL, the United States Congress’ Office of Technology Assessment (OTA), and Booz, Allen & Hamilton, where he worked on NASA’s Space Station program.
Sunil has been featured and interviewed by many publications and broadcast outlets including the New York Times Magazine, The Red Herring, and CNBC.
Nitesh Mehta, Product Management
Nitesh has deep experience building consumer products for social media, mobile platforms and the internet. He led product management Yahoo! social media platforms such as Yahoo Profiles and most recently was responsible for deploying Open Social for Cyworld, a subsidiary for the Korean telecom giant, SK Telecom. He was also the first employee at an enterprise software company, Jive Software, now used in 15% of the Fortune 500.
Jason Starr, Development
Jason brings almost two decades of internet and software engineering experience to the team. Early in his career he joined Industrial Light and Magic, where he helped write distributed software and maintain the supercomputers that rendered Star Wars I, Titanic, and numerous other movies. He then went on to be the first systems engineer at Brightmail, Inc, where he helped implement anti-spam solutions on some of the world's largest email systems. Most recently Jason worked as a Principle Engineer for Zvents, Inc, where he helped to create systems to import and normalize hundreds of thousands of events -- while simultaneously pioneering a new revenue source that achieved multi-millions of dollars in sales.
